“For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.”
By these verses, Isaiah 45:1-5, Dr. Solomon Surya Rao Saripalli, in the year 1970, was called to full time service. On June 1st, 1979, after graduating from independent Baptist College, Dallas, Texas; he was ordained from East Side Baptist Church, Vernon, Texas. His heart was always towards India not only because the nation was closed to foreign missionaries but also because he had a great burden for his countrymen. In the year 1980, Philadelphia Baptist Mission was established with the aim to win India for Christ. His elder son, Rufus Saripalli, who was called to full time ministry in the year 1987, has been a co – labourer with his father. Through the outreach ministries of the mission, many villages and towns have received the gospel. 12 churches have been established over the years. Since the Telugu people do not have the right Bible (KING JAMES VERSION,) the mission is involved in the enormous task of translating the Word of God into Telugu.
As the director of the mission, his current focus is on winning souls, establishing more churches, teaching what the Bible says at B.I.B.L.E. college (Baptist Institute of Biblical Learning and Education,) translating the English King James Version to Telugu, among many others.
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” John 15:16
